I am often asked whether it is really necessary to draw up a will. Isn’t everything already arranged in the law? And when it comes to international situations, don’t we have the European Inheritance Act?

On Tuesday, 29 March 2017 the Dutch Senate adopted the legislative proposal ‘Limited Community of Property’ by a scant majority (38 in favour – 37 against!). A clear sign that not everyone is happy with the new act.
Jonkheer Frans van Rijckevorsel van Kessel LL.M has elected to retire as civil law notary on 1st of January 2023. His legal successor will be Mrs. Lonneke Feddes-van der Plas LL.M. Lonneke’s appointment is effective 1 January 2023, when she will also join the Van Buttingha Wichers’ partnership. She will focus on the Real Estate Law and Corporate Law practice. Ms Caroline de Nerée tot Babberich LL.M will lead the (International) Family Law practice.
