On 1 January 2018, The Hague-based firm of Van Buttingha Wichers notarissen merged with De Jong & De Nerée, a firm of civil law notaries in Scheveningen, under the name Van Buttingha Wichers Notarissen.

With more than forty staff, the firm will be the largest autonomous firm of civil law notaries in The Hague.

Why Merge

The two firms’ expertise lies in different areas. For generations Van Buttingha Wichers Notarissen has acted as confidante and counsellor to many families, advising them on (complex) issues of national and international family property law.

The firm’s other area of focus is complex (international) corporate law.

De Jong & De Neree has extensive expertise with professional commercial property. By joining forces, both firms can safeguard their continuity and the high quality of their services.

What Will Change

Together the firms can offer a broader range of services, locally, nationally and internationally. This means they can serve their clients even better.

Wat Stays The Same?

Clients can rely on the same civil law notaries and associates providing the same high level of care and quality.

Each with his or her own specific expertise, every member of staff will do everything to resolve their clients’ issues in the best possible way.

For the time being, each firm will maintain its location in The Hague or Scheveningen respectively.
